Good evening, Everybun.

With a heavy heart, we would like to share that Espresso crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday, the nineteenth of February, the twenty-fifth, at about thirty-five minutes past noon.

He developed symptoms of GI stasis Tuesday night. Recovery protocol brought no relief, and on Thumpday morning, my hoomin darted off with Spressy to the BluePearl emergency hospital.

The initial assessment didn't reveal any dier concerns. His bloodwork showed two elevated liver functions. The treatment plan was to put Spressy on IV fluids, keep him hospitalized, and redo bloodwork the following morning.

It was during the prep for the fluids that he arrested. The team started performing CPR on the poor guy; the doctor called my hoomin. The CPR went on and on; Spressy was in no mood to come back. The hoomins stopped the CPR, and my hoomin could still hear the doctor's voice on the other end of the line calling "stop" to the team.

You probably sense the rest. My hoomin is wandering through the void, getting knocked down by the squalls of grief, seeing Spress in all the spots he loved to run through, loaf, and explore.

We said our goodbyes, and Gussy and I groomed him one last time. We had a little wake feast of cookies.

In the next few days, we'll reach out to Dr. Gronsky at BP to go over any "lessons learned" from all this. As always, we'll share.

Goodnight and good luck.

Fifi

No, it doesn't matter what you put on the order for Thumpday. You'll get the same treatment, but it's just not enough. It's never enough, hoomin!

- Thank you, Sunje, Kurtis, and SCHRR

PS: Fifi ended up at the rescue because her hoomin could no longer care for her. She is about eight years young, very friendly, and curious. And she's all lion bunnitude!

Alice

Tell ya what, hoomin - why don't you come up with something!? 'Cause you're gonna be surprised when I do!

- Thank you, Sunje, Kurtis, and SCHRR

PS: Alice is pure velvet. She's slowly heading for that elder bun territory but is as curious as ever. And she's super friendly. Her hoomin went into hospice care.

The Bunday Evening Thumps

"The Disapproving Fifers - Ewww!"

Good evening, Everybun!

We're waiting for a little front to blow through and bring some "not-summer" temperatures. When it is this hot this early, what do you think will happen to the Gulf of Disapproval? It will get warmer sooner, and then it will keep getting warmer yet. Then September and October come. And I really don't fancy making any long-distance trips. No, really, I don't. Once was enough.

In other news, The Murderizer states it's the Gulf Of Espresso. And Charlie? She's loafing patiently, waiting for the right moment to set us straight.

It's been a quiet day otherwise. My hoomin is trying to paint all day and is freaking out a little bit. What if this thing doesn't come together? Do we keep the background orange, or do we go with the green from the color study!?

Goodnight, and good luck!

Espresso, Charlie, and Gus Update

Hellos, Everybunny!

It's been a quiet week in the burrow. Everybunny's doing well - eating, making lots of pellets, and drinking lots of water. The pineapple and apple fruit water is hit with everybunny.

But when you make fruit water, make sure you check the ingredients. We have settled on Pineapple Light juice from Dole - it has 0 Calcium and no added sugar.

In other news, it's thumping hot over here. It's still February, but it's been "summer hot" these past few days.

Apropos nothing - I wonder what had happened to me? The other day, I was a young bun, fresh from the pound, and now I keep hearing things like "middle-aged" or "elder bun" getting thrown about like wilted cawwots! Thump! That's what I say to that - thump!

Anyway, it's going to be another "painting weekend" for my hoomin. At least he's starting to feel like he's going to pull it off. So, we're including a little update on one of the pieces.

We'll keep you posted!
