Good evening, Everybun.
With a heavy heart, we would like to share that Espresso crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday, the nineteenth of February, the twenty-fifth, at about thirty-five minutes past noon.
He developed symptoms of GI stasis Tuesday night. Recovery protocol brought no relief, and on Thumpday morning, my hoomin darted off with Spressy to the BluePearl emergency hospital.
The initial assessment didn't reveal any dier concerns. His bloodwork showed two elevated liver functions. The treatment plan was to put Spressy on IV fluids, keep him hospitalized, and redo bloodwork the following morning.
It was during the prep for the fluids that he arrested. The team started performing CPR on the poor guy; the doctor called my hoomin. The CPR went on and on; Spressy was in no mood to come back. The hoomins stopped the CPR, and my hoomin could still hear the doctor's voice on the other end of the line calling "stop" to the team.
You probably sense the rest. My hoomin is wandering through the void, getting knocked down by the squalls of grief, seeing Spress in all the spots he loved to run through, loaf, and explore.
We said our goodbyes, and Gussy and I groomed him one last time. We had a little wake feast of cookies.
In the next few days, we'll reach out to Dr. Gronsky at BP to go over any "lessons learned" from all this. As always, we'll share.
Goodnight and good luck.
